I always love walking into quaint little restaurants with eclectic people to sip a cup of coffee or enjoy a sandwich for lunch. I recently had the pleasure of meeting a former business partner in Dallas for such an experience. I asked her to pick the spot, as she’s up on the whole downtown Dallas foodie scene and she knows my taste in food… healthy with a flare. Back in the day she could walk into a restaurant and predict what I’d order off the menu. Many years later she has proven that statement still holds true. We had a fabulous cup of coffee AND a sandwich for lunch in a great environment because we had a lot of catching up to do. It allowed plenty of time for both coffee and lunch.
This week I had a similar experience, but this time it was in Bentonville, Arkansas. The environment was equally as eclectic, the coffee menu was just as intriguing, and the lunch menu left me in a state of confusion because I wanted too many of the sandwiches in just one setting. I stayed for hours because I was enjoying the hustle and bustle so very much. I didn’t mind waiting a while for a table because the people were kind and interesting and the activity was intriguing. I was fascinated by the art on the walls, including the crochet covered bicycle. I thoroughly enjoyed the tea I ordered as I waited. The corn chowder I had on this cold day was perfectly spicy and captivating. The Gruyere sandwich was the perfect combination of a Grilled Cheese and French Onion Soup. I can not wait to go back for breakfast as well as brunch. Press Room in Bentonville keeps calling me back for more!
