Fayetteville holds a charm all its own. It is very cosmopolitan but at the same time it has a very small town feel of community. When you need a quick repair there is always that specialty neighborhood shop close by to take care of those repairs at a reasonable price and in a timely manner. I’ve categorized several of those local shops here in Fayetteville. Keep my list handy as a quick reference.
Leather/Boot/Shoe/Purse/Luggage Repair
College Shoe Shop has repaired many a broken strap on my favorite sandals and the sudden rip in a new purse. They also re-soled my best boots and shined them to like-new condition.
Clardy’s Cobbler Shoppe has been serving the community for a long time and does quality work at a low price. If you need anything re-soled it will return to you looking like-new! You can’t go wrong with their very friendly service. They are located on N. Leverett St. near the U of A.
Bicycle Service and Repair
Stop by and talk to Nickel and the great staff at Phat Tire Bike Shop. Located just off the Mud Creek Trail in North Fayetteville, this shop has everything. The staff knows the trails, green ways, and the best mountain rides. They all love Northwest AR and they want to share that love with you. The best service around. Call 479-966-4308.
The Bike Route is located a little more east on the Mud Creek Trail just on the other side of Hwy 71b. They offer same-week repairs and lots of great inventory. Call (479) 966-4050.
Auto Repair Collision Services
Sines Body Shop has been serving Fayetteville since 1923. Really. And known for their high-quality work. For quick and reliable repairs, call 479-442-0867.
Lewis Collision Center has been locally owned and operated for many years by the Lewis Ford family. My friend’s vehicle was t-boned and received severe damage. The expensive factory installed floor mats had been stolen sometime before the accident. Matt called around and found replacements for the older model floor mats so that he could deliver the vehicle back to its original new! Great service! Call (479)751-0900.
Auto Repair
Richard Mayes Auto is a family owned and operated shop that has been serving Fayetteville since 1947. They have well-trained and certified mechanics who work on both domestic and foreign cars.
Unique Creations by Billy repairs and maintains anything that moves. He customizes and builds hot rods so he knows all things motorized. He picked up, restored, taught my children to ride, and dropped off my 37 year old Honda mini-bikes recently so I now count Billy as one of my heroes. Call him at 479-521-8430.
Auto Tire Service
I know a lot of folks get their tires repaired and buy new ones at the big box stores but Tire Tracks on S. School St. is locally owned and has quick, reliable service. They always research to find me the best tire for the best price. Call (479) 443-4000.
Auto Oil Changes
You can use any number of chain stores for oil change services but Kent and Melissa Atkins, owners of The Grease Pig Lube & Tune offer that quality down-home service that I like. They have two Fayetteville locations, one on College Ave. (479-587-0990) and one on MLK Blvd. (479-442-7799) Drop by or call either location for great service.
Vacuum Repair
Dennis’ Vacuum Center has been serving Fayetteville for many years. You can get all your repairs done on any model right there in-house. They have a great staff and also sell new and refurbished units. Located on N. College Avenue. Call (479) 575-0356
Clothing Alterations and Tailoring
Ashley Little of Material Concepts, just off the downtown Fayetteville Square on Meadow Street, does design and tailoring. It’s always best to make an appointment because she stays busy, doing excellent work. Call 479-790-9449.
Sofia’s Tailoring does quality clothing alterations. Sofia is a bit of a character but very professional. 479-443-4649.
Lawn Mower Repair
Fayetteville Mower Repair has been in business for over 30 years. They offer pick up and delivery. Repairs also include all outdoor power equipment such as tillers, chain saws, leaf blowers, etc. Call 479-442-3062.
Appliances Repair
Randy Howard at AAA Appliance Repair will get your repairs done quickly, sometimes the same day you call. Call 479-521-3169.
